  • Semi-private personal training is NOT a class, boot camp, or any other "copy and paste" fitness program.

It's a unique hybrid between 1-on-1 personal training and group fitness classes. All the benefits from both styles of training, with zero of the downsides. Here's how:

    SEMI-PRIVATE IS SAFER

One-size-fits-all group fitness isn't just holding you back from fully achieving your goals, it's damn right dangerous.

A group of 20+ men and women with just 1 coach, all doing the exact same copy-and-paste workouts (designed to "feel" like you got your money's worth) and with little to no education on safe form for your body?

Group fitness is a one way ticket to failure, burn-out, or injury.

With semi-private personal training, I carefully craft each program just for you (not to mention my obsession with proper form and technique). I've helped dozens of women not just move pain-free, but live pain-free.

    SEMI-PRIVATE IS MORE AFFORDABLE

In Portland, Personal Training hourly rates are between $75-$115/per hour while Group fitness can range anywhere between $50-$350/per month WTF!? 😧

Think of it as basically splitting the cost of a normal hour of 1-on-1 personal training.

*Fun fact: making scientifically accurate training more cost-efficient is actually one of my core values.

SEMI-PRIVATE IS GO AT YOUR OWN PACE

With traditional group fitness you're either A) pushed way too hard or B) not pushed hard enough.

For my A-Team: because each workout is designed for the individual, with semi-private personal training you can work at your own pace. There's no pressure to keep up with others or feel intimidated by what other's are doing.

For my B-Team (see how I switched things around there😉?): not only are you finally able to be pushed to your limits, but you don't have to deal with the "stare at you for every rep" bullshit like in 1-on-1 training. I get to keep an eye on you and assist as needed, but you can be in as much control as you want!

  • Look - shit happens.

One of my biggest pet peeves when I worked in corporate fitness was how ruthless they'd be over cancellation fees and policies. That's why I try to be as flexible as possible with mine.

(Depending on what plan you're on) you'll have a total of 8, 12, or 16 sessions to use each month. Since you pay for them each month, they're yours to use - or not use!

If you cancel with short notice, it'll be up to you to reschedule that session (unused sessions do NOT roll over month to month).

If you don't reschedule it in time, you simply "lose" that session (aka that's the "cancellation fee").

  • Once you've completed the initial One Month Intro and then selected one of the 3 Different Semi-Private Personal Training Planks, I'll set you up with your own Train Heroic App account. This is where I'll write and post your workouts in advance of your scheduled sessions.

The app allows you to track your progress in and out of the gym.

Unlike a lot of other fitness programs, I don't put much (if any) emphasis on metrics like calorie burn, body weight, body measurements, or BMI. Instead, I like to focus on "total volume" in your workouts and daily steps in your day-to-day life. And this app allows us to do just that!

  • Virtual programming really blew up over the last few years #thankscovid And while I gave online training a go back then, I'm gonna be totally honest with you... I didn't really enjoy doing it.

My strength is in real-life, human interaction and connection (not to mention how hard it is to prioritize proper form virtually).

Short answer: no, I don't do any online or virtual training options.

Long answer: if we have worked together in person before, I'm more than happy to discuss online programming options with you. I've done this with several clients who moved away or out of state.

  • 1) Book your consultation phone call

Use the scheduling app for a date and time that works best with your schedule. We'll go over your goals, training needs, availabilities, past injuries, history, etc.

If everything sounds and feels good...

    2) We schedule your first "no sweat" session (literally)

Our first session is for me to see you MOVE. We'll take things down real real slow. I want to get to know you and your body so we can safely build and progress from there.

You get a feel for me, the other ladies, and the space. I'll go over my coaching cues and lead you through a warm-up.

Most of the session will be me going over pelvic floor, posture and basic movement patterns with you (with a spicy little "burnout" at the end).

    * If you DON'T like your first session... it's free. Yup, 100% on me. No hard feelings either if it's just not your fit! I'll be more than happy to recommend you elsewhere.

    * If you DO like your first session... it's free too! Woohoo!

    3) We start with the One Month Intro Plan

Think of this like a one month dating period. Working with a trainer can be just as intimate (and intimidating) as finding the right therapist, hair stylist, or even partner! That's why I want us to get a feel for one another - without any pressure or obligation - to see if we'll be a good fit together.

The first few sessions are arguably some of the most important on any fitness journey. This is where we lay the foundation that we'll continue to build upon - not just in our time training together, but for the rest of your entire fitness journey as well! That's what I take this all so seriously... I want to help set you up for life.

My approach is less of a coach ad more of a teacher. I'm going to pour everything I have into helping you, and this one month intro commitment helps allow you to do the same for yourself too.

    4) After the first month, you have 3 Semi-Private Training Plans to choose from

  • First...

I'm so fucking proud of you! Seriously. The courage and determination it takes to even be reading this deep into the details already shows me how serious you are. You should be proud of yourself too (even if you're still a bit hesitant or nervous as hell).

    Second...

Sadly, you're not alone with thinking this way. This is a very common misconception when it comes to training. And tbh it actually breaks my heart a bit every time I hear it. So I'm gonna say it real loud (for you and for all the ladies in the back):

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LOOK (ACT, MOVE OR BEHAVE) A CERTAIN WAY TO START YOUR FITNESS JOURNEY. You do not have to be any less and you do not have to be any more. You are already enough. You are already worth it.

When you work with me, I promise to always meet you where you are. Always.

    I've got your back x
